Quotations I Love

There are a few quotations that have become important to me as I heal. When I first started this blog, I "collected" quotations in little black notebooks, written in gel-pen calligraphy. Here are a few selections:

"This will be our reply to violence: To make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before." ~ Leonard Bernstein

"Be who you are and say what you feel, for those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind." ~ Dr. Seuss

"There is no such thing as false hope. Hope is hope." ~ a friend's mother

"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world." ~ Jack Layton

"You save yourself, or you remain unsaved." ~ Alice Sebold

"I never paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my own reality." ~ Frida Kahlo
